HOOVER — Local dog owners can take their furry friends out for a day of fun this Saturday, March 23.
The Shelby Humane Society will host the Paws in the Gardens event at Aldridge Gardens from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
The all-day event will give owners the opportunity to learn more about training, nutrition, grooming, breed education and veterinarian services, according to a Shelby Humane press release. Tickets will be $10 per dog, and proceeds after expenses will go to Shelby Humane.
“With the support of the community, we have watched the Paws event blossom each year,” said Meghan Wayman, adoption and outreach manager at Shelby Humane. “This year is sure to be the best yet.”
According to the press release, the day’s slate of events includes a dog costume contest, an “Ask the Trainer” session, face painting and food from Full Moon BBQ.
That day, the gardens will have an off-the-leash area, a photo area, an all-day water station for dogs and vendor stations.
Aldridge Gardens is located at 3530 Lorna Road in Hoover.
