Oak Mountain wrestlers finish runner-up at Lee Duals

The Oak Mountain High School wrestling team finished runner-up Jan. 22 at the Robert E. Lee Duals.
The Eagles defeated Jeff Davis, Benjamin Russell, Tallassee and Carver-Montgomery before falling to host Robert E. Lee in the championship match.
Five Oak Mountain wrestlers won their individual matches in the Eagles’ 47-23 loss to Robert E. Lee.
John David (J.D.) Peden of Oak Mountain earned a 17-0 technical fall decision over Jadarian Gibson of Lee in the 103-pound match. The Eagles’ Jeff Back earned a 4-2 decision over JaFarris Williams of Lee in the 160-pound match.
Oak Mountain’s Justin Woodall earned a 10-3 decision over Terrence Smith of Lee in the 189-pound match. Lloyd Time of Oak Mountain pinned Curtez Holt of Lee in the 215-pound match.
Matthew Wills of Oak Mountain won his 130-pound match by forfeit.
Oak Mountain defeated Jeff Davis 43-26 in the Robert E. Lee Duals. Eight Eagles won their individual matches against Jeff Davis.
Peden pinned Jeff Davis’ Fredrick Stokes in the 103-pound match. Jared Godfrey of Oak Mountain earned a 13-0 major decision over Decavis Powell of Jeff Davis in the 125-pound match.
Angus McBee of Oak Mountain earned a 3-0 decision over Julius Buskey of Jeff Davis in the 140-pound match. The Eagles’ Vincent Kimbrough pinned Antoine Green of Jeff Davis in the 152-pound match.
Conrad McBee of Oak Mountain pinned Thale of Jeff Davis in the 171-pound match. Oak Mountain’s Lloyd Time pinned Ryan Milledge of Jeff Davis in the 215-pound match.
Back won the 160-pound match by forfeit. Woodall won the 189-pound match by forfeit.
Oak Mountain defeated Benjamin Russell 39-35 at the Robert E. Lee Duals. Seven Eagles won their individual matches against Benjamin Russell.
Peden pinned Cody Padgett of Benjamin Russell in the 103-pound match. Oak Mountain’s Logan Dollins pinned LaJarret Ford of Benjamin Russell in the 119-pound match.
Godfrey earned a 2-0 decision over Gavin Fuller of Benjamin Russell in the 125-pound match. Kimbrough pinned Benjamin Russell’s Rich McClellan in the 152-pound match.
Woodall pinned Charles Chappell of Benjamin Russell in the 189-pound match.
Time won the 215-pound match by forfeit. The Eagles’ Chris Richmond won the heavyweight match by forfeit.
The Eagles edged Tallassee 40-39 in the Robert E. Lee Duals. Six Eagles won their individual matches against Tallassee.
Peden earned a 7-0 decision over Kennon Reese of Tallassee in the 103-pound match. Godrey pinned Tallassee’s Jeb Brantley in the 125-pound match.
Kimbrough pinned Shalako Erwood of Tallasee in the 152-pound match. Conrad McBee pinned Matthew Segrest of Tallasee in the 171-pound match.
Woodall pinned Lucas Self of Tallassee in the 215-pound match. Time won the heavyweight match by forfeit.
Oak Mountain defeated Carver-Montgomery 54-15 in the Robert E. Lee Duals. Eight Eagles won their individual matches against Carver.
Kimbrough pinned Radell Smith of Carver in the 152-pound match. Back pinned Horatio Fair of Carver in the 160-pound match.
Conrad McBee pinned Josh Phifer of Carver in the 171-pound match. Woodall pinned Justin McClain in the 189-pound match. Time pinned Daniel McCall in the 215-pound match.
