What does it mean to be led as a spiritual person?

Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:1 states, “And so, brothers and sisters, I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but rather as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.”

By this statement it is implied that Paul would have liked to speak to them as spiritual people but they were not ready. What does it mean to be a fleshly Christian on your way toward being a spiritual Christian?

John in 1 John says, “God is Spirit, and his worshipers must worship him in Spirit and in Truth.”

Again, somehow we are to go from people of the here and now to people living spiritually with God. When we receive our baptism we are expressing to the world that we have received the Holy Spirit of God to live within us. This is one of the wonderful gifts of Jesus Christ.

From birth, God has placed within us a tremendous desire to seek the fruits of the Holy Spirit, “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

We try many things to obtain these fruits; when all along, they are blessings given by Christ via the Holy Spirit.

Being a spiritual person means we have relinquished our need to control and are now led by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit leads us to love and care for others because everyone is created and loved by God. Spiritual people look forward to the day when we can go and live with Christ in heaven.

Being Spiritual is living your life for the wellbeing of others knowing that with God there are no secrets.

Being spiritual means knowing sin is in the heart, and is against God and God alone. Being spiritual is a way of life and is lived out each day.

Being spiritual is understanding prayer is the language of God.
