Pelham edges Oak Mountain in tennis match

The Pelham High School boys’ tennis team edged Oak Mountain 5-4 in a high school tennis match Feb. 22.

The Panthers won three singles’ matches and two doubles’ matches against Oak Mountain.

Jim Flaniken of Pelham defeated Preston Touliatos of Oak Mountain 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Trevor Tucker of Pelham defeated Kyle Ehlers of Oak Mountain 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 2 singles’ match.

Thomas Mason of Oak Mountain defeated Peyton Davis of Pelham 3-6, 7-5, 11-9 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Jake Marinelli of Oak Mountain defeated Taylor Honeycutt of Pelham 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Jacob Dolinger of Pelham defeated Hunter Dodson of Oak Mountain 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Mark Newton of Oak Mountain defeated Anthony DeLeonard of Pelham 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Flaniken and Tucker defeated Touliatos and Ehlers 10-6 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Davis and Honeycutt defeated Mason and Marinelli 10-6 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.

Dodson and Andriy Naavhust of Oak Mountain defeated Dolinger and DeLeonard 10-8 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
