Chargers defeat Lions

The Cornerstone Christian School baseball team defeated Kingwood Christian School 13-4 in high school baseball action April 4.

The Chargers clinched the victory with six runs in the fourth inning.

Josh Anderson led Cornerstone Christian at the plate as he finished 3-for-3 with a double. Anderson drove in three runs and scored three runs in the win.

Auston Wingard, who drove in on run and scored two runs, finished 2-for-3 with a double. Austin Davis went 2-for-4 and scored a run.

Chase Payne finished 1-for-4 with a double and scored two runs. Adrian Young, who drove in one run and scored one run, went 1-for-3 with a double.

Sterling Reither, who drove in two runs and scored two runs, went 1-for-3 at the plate. Hagan Joiner, who drove in one run and scored one run, finished 1-for-3 at the plate. Dylan Rodgers finished 1-for-4 and drove in a run. Aaron Eastman scored one run.

Rodgers started on the mound and earned the win after giving up just one hit with four walks in 2 1/3 innings. Joiner pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief and allowed four earned runs on three hits with one strikeout and one walk.

Young allowed just one hit with one strikeout and one walk in the final two innings.
