Eagles edge Buccaneers in playoff match

The Oak Mountain High School boys’ soccer team edged rival Hoover 2-1 following a round of penalty kicks in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A playoffs May 6.
The match couldn’t be settled in two 40-minute halves and two 5-minute overtime periods. Oak Mountain finally clinched the victory after edging Hoover 3-1 in the penalty-kick session.
Oak Mountain goalkeeper Brad Louis posted eight saves in the win.
Reid Biasco scored the only goal for the Eagles (19-4-2) in regulation.
