Never let it be said that the creative community lacks for a sense of humor — specially when it comes to naming businesses.

Consider Pardon My Posh or Twisted By Nature or You’re A Hoot, which, among others that might not so quickly provoke a grin, will be a part of the Pelham Pantherettes Holidayz Shops of Christmas coming up Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4 and 5.

The 2011-12 Pantherettes, sponsored by Mrs. Laura Cochran, attended Universal Dance Association camp at UA and received first place for their Home Routine, a Superior Trophy, a Leadership Award and the Spirit Stick.

“Last year, our first, we pulled this show together in just three weeks. This year will be bigger and even better and, with the diversity offered, a great one-stop opportunity for everyone to do their Christmas shopping,” said dance mom and vendor coordinator Jo Ellen Ramsey.

Handmade jewelry, colorfully patterned mugs proclaiming such inspirations as ‘Always color outside the lines’ and ‘Never underestimate the power of a hissie fit’ and ornaments will be in Robin Howell’s booth at the upcoming Holidayz Shops of Christmas. (Contributed)

“All revenue goes to help offset the cost of the team of attending the national competition.”

Team members Megan Aenchbacher, Hayley Barber, Katie Belue, Shelby Bradford, Maddie Gathings, Kiera Hiatt, Karlie Lawson, Abby Lindley, MerryMichael Ramsey, Tristin Sharp, Presley, Sherer, Katie Thomas, Marissa Wilkins, McKay Wilkins and Savanna Windham, will be working the Holidayz event that will be held this year at the Helena Recreation Center.

Vendors include vine wreaths by Tiffany Miller, Paw Prints Photography, stained glass ornaments and jewelry by Buck Creek Stained Glass, custom frames and headbands by Mitsy Gillespie, The French Flea and Shane Welch of Bearcreek Woodwork.

Collegiate team gifts and apparel will be well-represented, and monogramming will be available on-site.

Wendy Wood will have a selection of gifts and accessories from Wood Family Pharmacy, Katie Allen will show her hand-painted Christmas ornaments, and handmade jewelry by Rebecca Wanagan, Hassie Thornton, Beth Menke and Darlene Ellis will be available.

A Mother’s Creations, Deb E Cakes and The Fieldhouse, as well as familiar names such as The Pampered Chef, Avon, Mary Kay, Thirty-One Bags, Silpada and Premier Jewelry lines will participate.

LaReunion will offer sandwiches, sweets and drinks. Gift cards to local salons and restaurants will be available for purchase.

A $2 admission ticket will be each shopper’s entry into a drawing for the generously laden basket auctions. Hours are noon to 9 p.m. on Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Helena Recreation Center.
