The Chelsea High School girls’ basketball team defeated Talladega in its opening game of the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A, Area 7 tournament Feb. 6.

Amanda Mock led the Hornets (12-13) with 11 points in the victory. Mock also grabbed a team-high 17 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

Allie Luster added nine points in the win.

Chelsea will meet host Briarwood Christian in the AHSAA Class 5A, Area 7 tournament semifinals Feb. 9 at 5:30 p.m.
