Mad for Mediterranean
If it hadn’t been for a trip to Spain, Brava Rotisserie Grill in Hoover would never have served up its distinctive Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
Restaurant owner Barry O’Hare visited Spain years ago for his brother’s wedding, traveling to Barcelona and seeing the Costa Brava, the restaurant’s namesake. While he was there, he was struck by how the Spaniards had a relaxed attitude toward food.
“You don’t have to be fancy to have good food,” O’Hare said. “If I had not gone to Barcelona for my brother’s wedding, I would never have thought of this place.”
From that trip, O’Hare was inspired to create a casual eatery with fresh, healthy choices that are still enormously flavorful.
