Skin Care Solutions of Alabama opening in Helena

HELENA — Skin Care Solutions of Alabama, a business offering a full-service facial studio and professional skin care, has located to Helena and has scheduled a soft opening for Monday, July 6.
Owner Valerie Brock said a grand opening is tentatively scheduled for August, with more details to be announced later.
“My goal is to educate people on how to have healthy skin and how to do it affordably,” said Brock, who moved to the area from New York about five years ago. “I really wanted to go back to the basics of healthcare.”
Brock, a medical aesthetician, said she is particularly interested in helping teens and women with acne.
For those who might have concerns about visiting close-contact businesses during the novel coronavirus pandemic, it might be encouraging to know that Skin Care Solutions will be licensed by the Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Barbering, due to the stringent guidelines that must be met, Brock said.
“It’s definitely a concern,” she said when asked about opening during the pandemic, adding that she was recently laid off like many Americans. “But it gave me the time to take a step back and look at what I was doing and what I wanted to do.”
Brock encourages people to visit not just for the direct health benefits but also from a relaxation perspective.
“It’s a great way for men and women to come in and relax for an hour and destress, which is important during this time,” Brock said.
Skin Care Solutions of Alabama is located at 3965 Helena Road, next to Husky Tails Dog Grooming and Old Town Barber Shop. Business hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
