FROM STAFF REPORTS

NORTH SHELBY — The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Shelby Baptist Association, the Shelby County Law Enforcement Chaplain’s Association and North Shelby Baptist Church will host a church safety conference at 6:30 p.m. April 24 at North Shelby Baptist Church.

No reservations are needed to attend the conference, which is the second of its kind. The first conference was held in Pelham last year. Shelby County Sheriff Chris Curry said the April 24 conference will feature three new topics — Internet security, disaster preparedness and the threat pedophiles pose to youth groups.  North Shelby Baptist Church is located at 4100 Belcher Drive, Birmingham.
