Hope Christian downs First Assembly in tournament opener

The Hope Christian School girls’ basketball team defeated First Assembly Christian 31-24 its Alabama Christian Sports Conference tournament opener Feb. 8.

Brooke Machen led the Eagles (12-8) with eight points.

Karlee Tate added seven points. Erin Douglas and Christina Jones chipped in five points each. Douglas grabbed three rebounds and Jones finished with four rebounds, a team-high four steals and two assists.

Leigh Wilson-Legg contributed four points, four rebounds and three steals. Hannah Rettig finished with two points and four rebounds.

The Eagles will meet Evangel Family Christian Academy in the ACSC semifinals Feb. 11 at 5 p.m.
