The Hope Christian School football team enjoyed a memorable season in 2010 on its way to an Alabama Christian Sports Conference championship.
The Eagles missed many of the players who helped Hope Christian capture a state title last season Aug. 19 in their 42-0 season-opening loss to Evangel Family Christian School of Montgomery.
After a large graduating class bid their goodbye in May, a youthful roster struggled in its first taste of varsity action.
Charles Streets led Hope Christian on offense as he finished 6-of-16 passing for 82 yards while also rushing for 41 yards.
Eric Spence completed 2-of-8 passes for 28 yards. Ben Nafe added eight rushing yards.
Dillon Thompson led the Eagles with three receptions for 37 yards. Jonathan Misso led the Hope Christian defense with 10 tackles. Andrew Whitson, Reid Allen and Cameron Barnett recorded six tackles each.
The Eagles were plagued with turnovers, including four interceptions.
